2014 RMP Sediment and Bivalve Data Now Available on CD3!

In 2014, the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in San Francisco Bay (RMP) collected sediment and bivalve samples from San Francisco Bay as part of its long-term monitoring program. Results from these samples are now available on SFEI's Contaminant Data Download and Display (CD3) Tool.
Bivalve species Mytilus californianus samples were deployed in San Francisco Bay on June 10-12, 2014 and were retrieved on September 16-19, 2014. Resident Corbicula fluminea were also harvested as part of the sampling effort from the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers September 19, 2014. Samples were analyzed for growth, PAHs, PBDEs, PCBs, and selenium.
Sediment was collected from San Francisco Bay on August 5 - 13, 2014 from 27 sites located within five regions of the Bay and at the mouths of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. Samples were analyzed for grain size, TOC, total solids, CHN, trace metals (including Hg, MeHg, As, Se), PAHs, PBDEs, PCBs and pesticides.
Results are managed by SFEI's Data Management Team and standardized following California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) controlled vocabulary and business rules. All data are reviewed using the RMP QAPP by SFEI's QA officer or other designee. Once approved for public release, data are made available on SFEI's CD3 Tool and CEDEN's Advanced Query Tool.

Contaminant Data Display and Download Tool or CD3 is an innovative visualization tool for accessing water quality data for the San Francisco Bay-Delta and northern montane regions. It is the primary tool for accessing and downloading the San Francisco Bay Regional Monitoring Program’s (RMP) long-term dataset and other project data stored in SFEI's Regional Data Center (RDC).

The California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) is a central location to find and share information about California’s surface waters, including streams, lakes, rivers, and the coastal ocean.
